Crime Stoppers of Halton is the most cost effective way of catching criminals. Your donation will help to reduce crime in all communities in the the Halton Region.

We are a federally registered charity and donations are tax-exempt. All donations to Crime Stoppers help to cover the cost of rewards, promotional material and community events. We are 100% supported by our own fundraising activities and through donations from individuals, corporations and service groups. Donations of cash or services are always appreciated and tax receipts will be issued for donations of $25.00 or more.

Volunteering

Crime Stoppers rely on the active support and participation of our network of local volunteer board members. Each and every one is a vital link with the community without which Crime Stoppers simply could not continue to serve society.

Get involved in Crime Stoppers. It's a successful community program that encourages people to call the Tips Line with information to solve local crimes. Crime Stoppers of Halton has out-of-the-ordinary opportunities for volunteers with good presentation and interpersonal skills. Crime Stopper volunteers work along with Board members, for example, to promote Crime Stoppers to the public, assist at school demonstrations, re-enact crimes on television, and help with special events. These are flexible volunteer positions that require only 4-5 hours a month.

Board Members

Experienced business people are needed on the Board to set policy and direction, and to authorize expenditures. The Board meets once a month.

The Board members actively promote the organization and its crime-prevention mission. To this end, the Board members strive to raise the required funds necessary to sustain the ongoing awareness programs and to pay the merited tipster rewards.

As a volunteer, your role will be worthy but never dull. In fact, it’s sociable, stimulating and truly rewarding with real potential for self-development. The value of volunteers cannot be underestimated both to us as an organization and to the wider community. It takes someone special to give their time and make a commitment to having a positive impact on curbing crime.
